Module 1

Tonight I finished my module one homework. I must say that I enjoyed reading and comparing the two studies. What sticks out most in my mind regarding action research is how well the results can impact your classroom. The study showed that it was possible to increase student relationships in a variety of fashions given cetain opportunities. This in turn increased their social and or academic levels.
I believe that if my results demonstrate an increase in parent communication and students having a positive desire to achieve more academically then my students will become better students (academically and possibly socially) resulting in parents that are happier with the provided education.
What do you think the results will show?

I think this is a great idea, but you still need to think specifically about what you want to see, because if you don't, how will you know if you see it? You need to be able to very clearly finish this sentence "when I increase positive communication to parents, I hope that..." what comes next? I hope my students will...? I hope the parents will??? I hope that I see ....this particular change? See, if say keep it sort of nebulous, how will you figure out how to measure it? How do you write a survey to find out if "my students seem happier?" Keep thinking and writing, you're getting there (and module 2 will help...)
